THE BEST DIET THAT HAS WORKED FOR ME IS GOING VEGAN, ITS PUT MY DIABETES IN REMISSION.
IAM STILL ON METFORMIN 500MG,2 TWICE A DAY, AND 40MG GLICLAZIDE ONE TWICE A DAY, MY DOCTOR WONT TAKE ME OFF MY MEDICATION THEY WANTED ME TO GO ON INSULIN.That's a great result so well done, but if you're trying to promote a vegan diet as a route to remission I have to tell you that I've put my diabetes in remission even though I haven't gone vegan.
If you are on that amount of meds then obviously there must be something wrong with your blood sugar levels.IAM STILL ON METFORMIN 500MG,2 TWICE A DAY, AND 40MG GLICLAZIDE ONE TWICE A DAY, MY DOCTOR WONT TAKE ME OFF MY MEDICATION THEY WANTED ME TO GO ON INSULIN.
Hi, Mike
Martha has another thread running on which I've been exchanging posts with her.
I was under the impression that being in remission was being able to maintain a non diabetic glucose level without medication for diabetes so I would say @Martha Mulligan could not be classified as being in remission and I think if she has been told that then she has been misled.I had to be classified as in remission at my GP surgery before I declared myself in remission here, just to be absolutely certain.
I have had numerous communications with vegans telling me that eating plants can reverse my type two diabetes, but as yet I have not managed to find anyone who would reveal their eating plan or even outline the sort of meals they eat on an everyday basis. I am sure it would help those who would like to eat less meat to know how you eat and control your glucose levels.
