Please can anyone shed some light on what is the process for getting an upgrade to Libre 2 - NHS funded/ on prescription - so far Abbott is pointing to NHS to do something ; NHS is pointing at Abbott ;GP is pointing to hospital - so zilch = stalemate. Son is already on Libre 1 - prescription/ NHS funded - so in my simple mind is just a straight switch (as no extra cost and Libre 1 is being phased out anyway) . Seems to be down to getting the prescription switched by a medic - but NHS is looking to Abbott and so we go round in circles - talk about left hand doesn't know what right hand is doing! .
His next consultant hospital appointment isn't until the summer - meanwhile his quality of life is urghh! Hoping Libre 2 will help - if only a bit .. as every little helps! Any ideas to help break the stalemate sooner / speed up the process - which seems to be a wait and be told what to do - while he continues to feel awful cos of many lows / spikes - day and night ( not waking from them either).
Can't even buy Libre 2 without some darn letter or other from hospital / GP - ie doctor saying they prescribe and upgrade is ok -understandably I know.
Seems such a simple thing to do but a huge task to achieve ... PS - CCG is Croydon/ SWL
Many thanks .
Any thoughts welcome please.
