Found a lovely spread when I was in Tesco on Sunday, Meridian Cocoa & Peanut butter, they also do a version with Hazelnut, it is absolutely delicious!! the peanut butter one is only 15.9g carbs per 100g well tasty on toastx
😱Good grief thats higher carbs than the old Lucozade and twice as high as the new lucozade. I suppose the oils will slow the effect. Yes, but...you wouldn't eat 100g of it at a time. ( Well I assume not anyway) 20g spread on a slice of Burgen is only going to increase the carb load by 3.3, (and of course, we Type 1s have the advantage of being able to cover it with our insulin.) Compared with, say, jam,(60g. carb per 100g) it's a lot kinder to Blood sugars!😱Good grief thats higher carbs than the old Lucozade and twice as high as the new lucozade. Fancy the Date Syrup - bet thats good for hyops.
Yup 74% peanuts, 11% honey, 9% coconut and 6% cocoa powder its lovely stuff though 😛 and no I did not know that 🙄 haha xI was only joking😛.However what is in it? My Whole Earth Peanut butter is only 9g per 100g and cocoa won't make that much difference. The meridian website doesn't give much in the way of facts about the ingredients. (just looked at the picture of a jar and see it has coconut and HONEY - well that would explain it)
P.S. did you know that 10 peanuts contains 2.2g carbs and enough calories to keep you walking for 16 minutes!
