When trying to visit the Diabetes UK website via https://diabetes.org.uk/ ..I'm presented an error message that reads 'Your clock is ahead'

I can't update Google Chrome as my machine is too old ..but there is a ✻workaround✻ to access your Diabetes Support Forums:

in the address bar type in https://forum.diabetes.org.uk/

Voilà.

Silly question - but have you actually checked your Date and Time settings? That message is usually shown when your date or time is awry. Go in and manually check/set them.

Hi steven, thanks for flagging this.

It seems to be working fine now and may just have been a glitch or an error with the computer. Hopefully it's all resolved now on your end but do let us know if it happens again.

Diabetes doesn’t affect the poor more than the rich, other than there are far fewer rich people. Being rich doesn’t buy you better genes.

And actually poor people do have access to the internet, on their mobile phones. They have to - their benefits are only accessible online. That’s our government helping poor people.

The message said “Your clock is ahead” not that the SSL was out of date? Or are you saying it said both? I can access Diabetes U.K. on all my browsers, some of which are very old.

You should be able to update your browser even on an old computer. Which browser are you using? Or maybe try a new (for you) browser, then you should get an up-to-date version.

The Diabetes UK website cannot be accessed via an ✻out-of-date✻ browser ..probably because of an expired SSL certificate ..folk who need access to your website the most, ain't going to be able to fork out for new computers ..'diabetes affects the poor more than the rich'
The SSL certificate is not out of date - there is not a different certificate for each version of every browser. The certificate is at on the Diabetes UK website's hosted server.

Have you tried a different browser? You mention that you are using MacOS X - what about Safari?

What version of osx? And who or what stops you upgrading Chrome?

I still think the issue is your end rather than Diabetes UK’s. I have an ancient iPod running a prehistoric version of Safari and I can get on the DUK website on that.

IMO, the problem is with your Chrome or with your device. If Safari isn’t working either then something isn’t right.

My OH can get it on his ACER Chromebook with version Google Chrome OS93.0.4577.95 if that helps.

OH suggests you use search terms 'your clock is ahead google chrome' and it should give you some possible solutions
