hi sorry its me again, keep thinking up questions and you guys are so good about answering them

anyway I have seen a few posts where people mention they eat the higher fat yogurts as part of the LCHF diet but I was just wondering which yogurts they are as all the ones I have looked at are so high in sugar still even the gross protein yogurts which have mad flavours like carrot and ginger or some nonsense

still trying to find something that might fill the void left by chocolate!

Plain greek yoghurt x

oh I do hope there are others I cant stomach plain greek yogurt atleast not the low fat version that I tried the other week!

You wont really find a high fat low carb/sugar yoghurt I'm afraid x

how frustrating
do people not know sugar is bad...says someone who had serious issues with sugar for years 😳

Have you tried Skyr? They do a plain one which is low carb but also some flavoured ones that aren't too high in sugar. I have plain full fat yoghurt with berries & cinnamon mixed in to it.

I think I have seen them they are some of the ones with funny flavours...
and I'm not big on berries ... I know I am an awkward pain in the posterior
but thanks for the suggestion x

Irish Creamier yoghurts are not low fat but are low sugar, we get them from Sainsbury's online.

Skyr is scrummy and the Icelanders are so healthy so it's gotta be good. I luv plain yogurt on top of fruit, it's like thick cream mmmm

Honey flavoured Skyr yogurts are lovely ~ tho don't eat the whole tub at once! I doubt you will find a low fat low sugar yogurt but if you do then please let us know. Greek yogurts are nice and creamy. I buy frozen mixed berries and eat a small amount in their frozen state with yogurt. Mmmm!

Most, if not all Skyr is made in Germany or Belgium and has little to do with icelandic Yogurt which is actually a cheese as it has renit in it.

Irish Creamier yoghurt- sold in two versions in Sainsbury's online. Just don't get the diet version.

You could buy a yogurt maker and make your own where you can work out sugar and fat content and add your own flavours/fruit. You can use any milk, whole, semi, skimmed, soya, etc. I use long life milk to save faffing with boiling milk. Lakeland sell yogurt makers with wee pots which have lids
Also r&g do wee squares of chocolate- see post CHOCOLATE in food section bit expensive but apparently Morrisons and Lidl sometimes have them on offer.
Hello buy the way. Carol

Greek style natural yoghurt, 5 strawberries, 10g of oatwell crispy oat hearts for a bit of texture and a drizzle of honey. With the Metformin slow release it might raise my BG in the first hour by 1-2mmol and then it generally drops back at the end of the second hour after eating.

Ok here we go light and free by Danone is free of sugar and fat but it does still have 7.8 grams of carbohydrates per pot for the strawberry.

It contains among lots of other things, something called Oligofructose which is a vegetable derivative that is a soluble fibre it has a sweetness that is half as strong as sugar.

It is however a carbohydrates but it doesn't raise your blood sugar according to the "journal of nutrition".

I am not sure about this but they are nice and come in lots of flavours and don't raise my blood sugar too quickly.

You need to try for yourself as what one person finds another doesn't.

I personally find it better just to get normal Greek yogurt and squish frozen raspberrys and add it to the yogurt as the fat of the yogurt slows the absorption of the carbs which are quite low.

I have the full fat plain greek yoghurt & it's really thick.

If I have the low fat one, it's very runny & I have to put some fruit in it

Really? I bought some Sainsbury's fat free Greek yoghurt and it resembled grout! Probably tasted like it too! I went back to normal Greek yoghurt in the end!

Yes, I get the Asda one, really thick, the fat free one is like water in comparison
