I've been fancying yoghurt for a while but not sure what to go for any advice?
 
A lot of people have Muller Light I did the other day but wasn't impressed by the flavour (I got sucked in by the lovely sounding peanut and caramel flavour but I couldn't taste the supposed caramel in it) also have a look at the flavoured greek style yoghurts, I find searching supermarket websites and looking at the nutrition info helps as then I know what to go in and pick up as I have had funny looks for now examining packets haha x
 
For flavoured yoghurts I like Creamier Irish yoghurts, sold in Sainsbury's. They are live and very creamy with interesting flavours such as gooseberry and rhubarb. Best they have only 6 or 7g carbs per pot and it seems to be very slow acting.
Other times I use full fat Greek yoghurt and mix in my own ingredients including sweetener because I don't actually like the taste of natural yoghurt!
 
I'm doing LCHF, so I've started buying full-fat plain live yoghurt. I don't buy the flavoured varieties because they contain sugar. Anyway, I've finally found a live yoghurt that is nice and mild (I don't like the sharpness of most of the others I've tried). Today, I had a small amount of frozen raspberries and a couple of tablespoons of yoghurt for breakfast, and it was delicious. Honestly, I could have been eating dessert it was that nice. So if you are doing low-carb or balancing your macro-nutrients, I'd suggest a full-fat plain yoghurt and add your own allowed fruit. The one I had today was Onken Natural Set Bioyoghurt.

P.s just to add, I'm new to all this so my suggestions maybe arent that useful. also I haven't yet tested my BS after eating yoghurt. Just in case I sounded like I knew what I was talking about lol.

I agree with ginger and I eat natural yoghurt a local one is best if you can find one .Mine is called Lancashire farm dairy and can be bought in the local asda brilliant with a few berries and or nuts

I've just discovered these while doing slimming world. They are 52 calories per pot and 7g carbs xx

I don't think I'd eat them, potato and tapioca starch, and modified maize starch, would make my blood sugars spike.
 
Hi. Like Radders I have the Irish no-sugar added fruit yogurts. They do two types of texture. Sainsburys are the most reliable stockist. Do read all the labels for other yogurts as they are usually stacked full of sugar; really healthy!
 
I have been eating Aldi own Authentic Greek yogurt, and add my own berries. I only discovered this a few weeks ago before that I was having there plain Greek Style normal yogurt.

See they aren't too bad with mine I don't find but guess we are all different and the diabetic fairy is a mysterious creature haha x

I don't eat Muller because they contain gelatine and I'm veggie. It's annoying as they are often the only brand stocked in some canteens etc.
What I like about the Creamier ones is that they are low sugar but not low fat, which is hard to find in anything other than natural yoghurt.
 
Have you tried Skyr? It's low carb high protein, quite nice with a few berries added.
technically Skyr is not yoghurt as they add animal rennet to it, so not veggi either.

I have since posting found that european Skyr is not made with rennet.

I make my own greek type yogurt from full fat milk and have just discovered Yeo valley Greek Yogurt (5.3g per 100g, purely from the milk) which I use as a starter.

Lisa, I have now tested my BS after my yoghurt, and it only rose by 1.7 points. That was a snack-size or light meal size amount of food (27g raspberries, 3 dessert spoonfuls of yoghurt, 1 chopped brazil nut). So I'm beginning to know what I'm talking about (long way to go though!).

We are going to do like Vicsetter and start making our own. Apparently it's quite easy, plus cheaper and totally natural.
