Hi All can someone tell me one of the best yoghurts for type 2, also should it be full fat or low fat.
Many thanks
Kathleen

The one I buy is from Lidl, or sometimes Tesco - full fat Greek style yoghurt. The Lidl one I ate for breakfast today is 10% fat and 4.6% carbs and the 1Kg pot is 5 or 6 servings.
We need fat to keep our body healthy, and dairy fat seems to work just fine.

Similar, ALDI or ASDA are the ones I prefer, full fat. Different brands do taste slightly different so try and see which you prefer.

I only eat soya yogurt, especially Alpro sugar free - zero carbs, 2.3% fat. A lot of folk hate the taste but they have found a way to make it really creamy. Also the zero carb background gives me options for adding blueberries, jams, whatever.

In Germany (my home) there are many different zero-carb fruit versions and also a thick Skyr style version - UK is sadly still some way behind.

I'm a picky yogurt eater and will generally only go for Greek style yogurt. Favourite is probably Morrisons's and Asda but they are all a much of a muchness. Tesco's is possibly the most watery of the bunch. Always full fat. The low fat stuff is too sour for me and I've found since ditching the carbs I can have more fat.

@Drummer is very good for getting 5 or 6 portions out of a 1kg tub. I generally get 3 portions

Unflavoured full fat with the lowest carb count available. Usually Greek style, sometimes the high protein options. Lidl have a new high protein option that is low carb and tastes better than some of the more sour Greek ones. Otherwise it’s usually own brand Greek for me. I like it thicker rather than runny.

Full fat keeps you full for longer and hasn’t been replaced by sugar or chemicals. Even the heart healthy lobby now have recognised natural fats from dairy are a good thing, I’ve seen numerous articles in the last year or so. And if I want flavour I add in a few berries myself, far better than processed purées with who knows what added.

Yes, that is the one I use. It is delicious. I generally get 7 portions out of a 1kg tub and that is 3 big dollops (Don't you love the word "dollop"! :D )

Thank you I was hoping it was, yes it is delicious.
Glad to hear I’m doing something right!!!
Warmest wishes

I tend to eat yoghurt with sugar free jelly and berries, and can't over fill the small bowl I always use for desserts. That is how I get more servings out of one pot.
I am a creature of habit and I know that if I have one of the big white bowls I am going to fill it, so I have my 'special' brown bowl.
