I don't normally eat yoghurts because to be honest i get quite confused by the labelling on most but would consider eating a good quality (possibly organic) branded one so can anyone recommend a good one please? i have considered buying a yoghurt maker and making my own but before i do i would like to know what i can buy out there which don't have too much sugars, additives etc

thanks

yeah, i do the tescos greek yoghurt, but i go for the zero fat option. i might put a teaspoon of honey into it just to give it a little flavour. but i know that wont work for all.

Depends what you want from your yoghurt.

I've been using the Sainsbury's value 2% fat pots recently. They taste OK and I think it's 7g carb per 100ml and mostly low saturate fat

Tesco (other brands are available) low fat natural, then add some berries for flavour/variety.

Guaranteed not to spike. 😉:D

I love the yogosan that lidl do - not marketed as low fat or no sugar, but barely scratches my BG!

I can recommend the Yeo Valley flavoured natural yoghurts. Bit pricey - pack of 4 around ?1.50 - but they are delish! Depending on flavour around 16g carbs per pot which I guess is fairly high, but the natural yoghurt doesn't seem to spike for me anywhere near as much as other yoghurts. With all yoghurts I find they're better for BG if I eat them alongside something low GI, e.g. after a meal or with Belvita biscuits for a snack.

Ah yes I agree with Emma on this, the small indivuidual pots of plain yog are nice as well about 45p.

I adore Greek and Turkish natural yogurts and find them so creamy and appetising, they lend themselves to so many dishes, as a substitute for mayo, instead of cream, and are absolutely gorgeous with summer berries and a drizzle of good quality honey, seeds, flaxseeds and a scattering of mixed natural nuts. Shop bought fruit one's always spike me, especially, Activita which I thought were healthy until I saw the sugar content and was so shocked!
