Type 2
Hi I am 56 years old and have been diagnosed with type 2 for three years now.i only found out I was diabetic when I had heart failure, just to add to my problems I have Crohn's disease lucky me, look forward to posting and getting advice .

Welcome to the forum.

Have a look around and make yourself at home. Everyone is very friendly and helpful here.

Hi Donny, welcome to the forum 🙂 That's quite a time to get a diagnosis! How have things been for you? Are you on any medication for your diabetes?

Anything we can help out with, just ask 🙂

Hi Northerner thanks for your reply, yes I'm injecting novo rapid and lantus, as metformin was no good because of the Crohn's disease (just lucky I'm not a dog, they would have put me down lol, ) life goes on. Cheers

Thanks for the welcome, I have noticed how friendly people have been.

Well dunno about the Crohn's, but certainly I have known a few diabetic dogs ! Usually put them on mixed insulin though!

I should think Metfartin jolly well would be a NO NO with Crohn's, it's a good job they acknowledged that - when most of the time they seem to think people invent or exaggerate the gastric problems they have with it.

You can ask anything you like on this forum - the natives are extremely friendly.

Hi Donnyh
A warm welcome from me :D

Hi donnyh lovely to meet you. You have a lot to deal with but sound very upbeat about everything. Heart failure must have been very scarey for you ! How long have you had Crohn's ?, it must be difficult to cope with insulin, food and Crohns as well. Hope you get lots of useful advice from this site...Tintin
