today I feel, sick, dizzy, fatigued, headache, doggy stomach, achy, having trouble concentrating at work. Too frightened to take my bg levels this morning.

I will certainly not do that again, I used to feel like this everyday and wondered what was wrong with me. Now I know it was the D, and my fueling it with sugar.

I hope I get it out of my system fairly quickly and will certainly not make that mistake again, no matter how much I am craving it.

Feel free to give me a good telling off as I need it.

No telling off from me.
I guess you won't be doing that again in a hurry. I've been guilty of it myself 😡
Try drinking some extra water, it can help lower your BGs a bit and you might be dehydrated if your peeing more, that can make you feel yuk too.

Hi. Have you tried 85% dark chocolate such as Green & Blacks. Very low sugar so not much of a carb hit and healthy too.

Last year I was feeling irritable and glum with a sense of deprivation... BG 5.4... so why not make toast and use up the wholemeal bread?.. what effect could it have?...the toaster takes two slices, but there were still two in the bag... brought up not to waste food...and there was some lemon and lime marmalade... (BG after an hour 25...)
:(
I may have uttered the words, "Never again"...

Sometimes it's just like scratching an itch you must reach @Grannylorraine but it's part of being human and the price we pay for being diabetic. I ate a chocolate cornflake cake for Mother's Day and shot up to the heavens! It looked innocent but made me guilty and then punished me all night. Lesson learned? Until the next itch! :D

Don't beat yourself up love most of us are tempted sometimes and I have succumbed at times too. Just dust yourself off and carry on yesterday is done and who knows about tomorrow ... One day at a time that's how I manage x

It's not easy Lorraine , we are all human and will give into temptation. Don't be too hard on yourself you may not have even hit as high a bg as you fear. I've had a couple of lapses and when I've tested it's been higher but not as bad as I've feared and it's let me know that I can't get away with what I had. xx

Sometimes we have to learn the hard way, so don't feel bad. We'll all fall off the wagon at some point. Hope you are feeling better now.

I echo all the words above - you're not alone Lorraine I've done it myself too - not a nice feeling is it & totally understand you not wanting to take your bgls - you recognise where you erred - and you know how to rectify. Good luck hun.

Just put it behind you. Sorry it gave you such a guilt trip and made you feel bad. It is all fine as long as it is not the beginning of the slippery slope to old ways. Doesn't sound like it to me. You are doing really well and need to just take each day as it comes. Hope you are feeling better today? Take care 🙂

Morning Lorraine
Sometimes we step back over to the dark side or should I say milk chocolate side we are all human it sometimes takes a blip to make you realise it's best to stick with the green and blacks

We live and learn x

Thank you all, I am feeling a lot better today, except for the raging sore throat, my bg was slightly high this morning at 11, usually around 10 on waking, but that could be down to having some sort of throat infection.

Will try the Green and Black's next time I get a chocolate craving, and hopefully I will only eat a tiny bit rather than a whole bar.
