Hi Cakemaker, I do hope your hubby is better today. If you do get a repeat of yesterday, it would be entirely appropriate to call an ambulance because he really does need to be treated for an infection if that's what it is.
What a difference a day makes!
Yesterday he was in pain (still is but less), scared, unhappy, could hardly walk, struggled to get in and out of bed etc. We went to see the surgeon this morning. He said that the swelling was 'normal' and would go down after a week or so and there's no infection. He prescribed anti-inflammatory meds.
I dropped hubby off at the hospital entrance before parking the car. After seeing the surgeon hubby walked (hobbled) back to the car unaided. I think seeing the surgeon re-assured him as much as anything else. He's not ready to run round the block but he's a lot brighter now.
I'm wondering if the night sweats were to do with the diabetes and not the op? Since tuesday he's been taking his regular doses of Metformin 850mg twicw a day but has not been eating properly. He ate next to nothing on Tuesday and has only been having very little since.
