Last night about 11 o clock, my OH said i was talking like i was drunk and acting weird, i never even realised, he said test your bloods so i did and i was 18.7 I am worried that I never knew i was hyper but he did, I was so lucky he was there, do people lose there awareness after only 3 years cause thats all the time ive been diagnosed :confused:🙄

Only awareness I've lost is on hypos I can be down in the 1s before suspecting I'm low, but there again, I've lost awareness in many things these days.😉

I'm sorry to hear this Steff. I can't really help I'm afraid as I rarely get into double figures - it's the opposite end of the scale for me (had a 2.8 the other day before noticing anything untoward). It could be simply that whatever it is that is currently contributing to your high levels is masking the signs, and that if you were otherwise OK you would notice a hyper much more easily.

Hope you are feeling much better soon {{{Steff}}}

Hi Steff,

I wonder if it is because you have been taking pain killers on a regular basis for the last few days. These can make you a bit groggy when they build up in your system.

You will probably find that when you are pain free again that you will be alert to any changes in blood sugars.

Hi Steff,
I think Cherrypie has hit the nail on the head re the pain killers causing the problem.
Hope aches and pains are on the mend now as well.

You know Maisie you are spot on I never even gave it a thought the side effects of painkillers didnt even enter my head,Thank you I had visions of hypers left right and centre

Thanks Sue & Alan for your kind replies x
