Everyone knows ive been having problems with hypos and highs for the last few weeks had appointments cancelled with the consultant etc etc ! I have to go at 10 am to see about nova rapid .. Can anyone tell me . Will this change me and make it that the changes happen so quick my body will mess up big time ?

Hi Darren

Hope today's appointment goes ahead.

When adding / changing insulin, staff usually start you on low doses and gradually increase, to lessen chances of messing you body, and also because if your body is used to running high blood glucose levels, then reducing levels to near normal too quickly will make you feel hypoglycaemic at normal levels. The key is to test regularly and record results along with food intake & notes about exercise or anthing else that might affect levels to show / tell whoever is overseeing your change to Novorapid.

You will be fine, your having lots of low's and high's so as the song goes "things can only get better" Do you know why your getting lots of lows and highs? Little tip i use now is not to treat a hypo when its there but to treat it before it happends. EG my level for hypo is 4, and after checking my bs two hour after lunch/dinner if its below 5, i will munch on a medium gi snack of 10g as i know the way my bs are going.

Good luck, you'll be fine🙂

Can't offer any advice or add to advice already given. Just wanted to say I hope today goes ahead as planned and goes wll for you.
