Wordle - Quordle Thread

Got all the letters for Wordle but can't make a word! :(
Remember that puzzle often allows American acronyms, which I personally find quite annoying, having spent a lifetime dealing with US corporate speak which is full of acronyms - every company seems hell bent on inventing its own ;-(

PS: Writing this before even attempting the puzzles - have not yet had my morning coffee, plus I need my warmup cranial exercises before my brain is of any use...

I got yesterday's Wordle because it’s a sort of material, as well as other meanings. No learning opportunity is ever wasted! When I was at school, we had sewing lessons, and I’d be so bored while the teacher was droning on, that I’d read the back of the paper pattern packet, which always had a long list of materials suitable for the pattern to be made up in. That’s stood me in good stead for quizzes, puzzles, etc, over the years.

What I hate is people inventing abbreviations. For years my amputation was referred to as having an LBKA (Left Below Knee Amputation) but now someone has come up with ALLL (Amputee Lower Left Leg) which looks like key bounce!

I struggled desperately with Wordle and only got it because I went through the keyboard to see what it would allow from the remaining letters and still don't recognise the word. Then I struggled desperately with Quordle and bombed out for the second day in a row. I was doing really well on Octordle until the final word which ate up 3 lives before I got it!
Not a good Wordle day!

Wordle in 5
Quordle X 7 6 8 = DNF
Octordle for 59

Fat better day than yesterday. Wordle as I mentioned earlier was quite tricky. I had all the letters but no word but as I had three lives left I thought I would try to find some letter placings. Struck lucky with start and end letters and it all fell into place but I had to look it up afterwards. Reasonable Quordle got a change but to the wire for Octordle.

Wordle in 5
Quordle in 8 for 26 (7, 5, 6, 8)
Octordle to the wire for 64
Total Score 95!

Well, given my rather poor result after having had my coffee and morning walks, I shudder to think how I would have done if I had attempted these puzzles first thing this morning.

I had to look up the meaning of the Wordle answer, which is quite unusual for me. I only got it by process of elimination in the end.

Wordle: 5
Quordle: 8+3+4+5=20
Octordle: 66
Total: 5+20+66=91

Started well with a 3 on Wordle - similar to others I was really struggling to think of what could possibly fit for row 3. Wasn't at all sure it was a real word, but nothing else worked. Quordle I finished but couldn't get any worse - don't think I've hit 30 before on it - 7, 8, 6, 9. Octordle was going well but the last 3 words were problematic and ended with a 57. Overall total of 90.
