Wordle - Quordle Thread

My starting word lead me astray on Quordle. One of those teasers where you have 3 letters and the 4th can only be one letter but the first letter could be one of 3. So there is a temptation to go for a 2 or it could end up being 4 if you are unlucky, but those 3 guesses at worst only get you a couple of extra letters or eliminate those 2 letters. I tried to resist the temptation and use my normal second word as I couldn't work out an elimination word that would work with the 3 possible first letters. Typically my normal second word gave me nothing so I went back to the word I almost had and then wasted 3 lives to get it anyway! Grrh! As a result I flunked!

Wordle in 3
Quordle = DNF
Octordle for 56

Decent enough result here (3+20+54=77). Lately I have been using TREAD as my starter word, which has been quite lucky for me.

Another decent result this morning (3+21+56=80). A couple of 50/50 calls didn’t go my way, but overall I can’t complain.

I haven't figured out how octordle is scored nor how to do it better but quordle went very well
Wordle 4
Quordle 5,6,4,3 = 18
Octordle 67
89
Scoring for Octordle is the same as Quordle - just add up the numbers for each of the eight grid cells. What makes it a little confusing is that the app shows a clock symbol for 11/12, for some odd reason. I use TREAD as a starter word. If that comes up blank I try NOISY as the second word. Between those two I cover most of the vowels and the most common consonants. Not sure if that makes sense but it works for me…

Sitting in the corner with my dunce's hat on again.

Wordle in 4
Quordle 4 X 6 9 = DNF
Octordle for a reasonable 56

Congrats to @saffron15 on your great Quordle score today.

Decent enough result for main three puzzles (4+18+56=78).

For the weekly challenge I picked DELTA as the starting word and ended up with a score of 24.

Still sitting in the corner with my conical D hat on and wooden spoon in my hand!

Wordle in 3
Quordle 9 X 7 6 = DNF
Octordle for 64

Maybe I will get to try the Weekly Challenge tomorrow but Quordle is proving to be my nemesis at the moment.
