Hi Guys,

In answer to your question about flytting. It means moving house in Norway and a lot of Scottish words are found in Norwegian. Bairns (little children) are called Barnes, Kirk means church, however the one I like which has no relevence to English is sykhus translated as hospital!! 😛

I have a question? For the past two days, I have been suffering from terrible gas, stomach cramps and nausea. Would this have anything to do with reducing the dose of Metformin? It could be psychosomatic, as stress could be a factor as I am flytting! It's not really bad, just uncomfortable. Then again, it could be a simple bug?

Recognised meaning of flytting in #3 🙂 I guess such words come easily to me, as I have Scottish granparents, now dead, have lived in Tyneside, and travelled enough in Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Greenland etc to pick up some words in various Scandinavian languages.

Whatever is the cause of your gas, I hope it subsides once you get used to new home - even a change of water between borehole / reservoir / rainwater tank can affect how bowels work, I've found over the years, let alone adding stress of moving / travelling. Glacial outflow water is worse of all, so it's essential to allow particles, mostly silica, to settle out.
