so because of my tooth ache and my swollen face I am off to the dentist this morning.

It's the first time in 5 years! I know it's really stupid of me not going, I just don't prioritise it so there we go.

Anyway I've been in pain now some Monday and I woke up on Tuesday with the left side of my face frozen and numb so I think it's an abbcess.

Don't know what they will do today as long as they stop it hurting!

Here,s a big {hug}. Be strong and good luck. Carol

Good luck. If there is an infection the likelihood is they could give you antibiotics, unfortunately with a dental abscess the local anaesthetic won't always fully work so they can't always guarantee you will be fully numb (been there and had this happen to me!)
Try not to worry about it. I also hate going to dentist and will only usually go if I'm in pain. My dentist has referred me to have my treatment done under sedation now.

Good luck. I'm between dentists at the moment. The last one was useless. Just didn't do anything. I need a new crown as it's a bit bent but dentist said it's fine. No it's not. It falls out all the time. I stick it back in myself.

Hope it goes well. If it is an abscess they usally start off with antibiotics.

I just know I cant go on like this. Its like someone is drilling into my head!.
I know my mouth is a mess, I have at last 2 broken teeth but they haven't been causing me any issues so thats why i ahvent done anything about it.

Hopefully its just anitbiotics!

Good luck Phoebe. Probably prescribe antibiotics and treat once the infection has gone. Looks so painful you poor thing.

I've been there too Phoebe, quite a few years ago now, but exactly the same situation as you find yourself in now. As you say, you can't let it go on. I was given antibiotics and some temporary treatment and in the end, although it was uncomfortable, I was so happy that I had taken the step to sort myself out 🙂 I'm now in the happy situation of having a superb dentist, I have a check up every 6 months and there haven't been any problems for nearly 10 years, apart from the odd bit of tooth breaking off - but that's because I'm getting on a bit! 😱 🙂

I hope everything goes well, and you get a good dentist - whatever happens, you will be feeling much better after it's all been sorted out 🙂

p.s. I'm disappointed that you no longer have your face paint on 😉

Ouch, you have my sympathy, toothache is the worst kind of pain :(
Judging by your picture it looks like an abscess, I've had 3 in the past (I'm dental phobic too!) and I've always been given antibiotics then have to go back a week later for treatment. See if you can get some strong pain relief on prescription too. Best of luck to you, let us know how you get on xx

I've just been.

Did an X-ray of that tooth. The mouth clamp hurt so bad my eyes watered. It hurt doing that.

See shown me the X-ray it's completely rotten and dead, even the root is all black.

You are all right, I have an infection in my gums.

She said she recommend it coming out after the antibiotics as it would hurt too much as it is.

Just in boots now picking them up. Then I'll be phoning all the dentists I can to get in as quick as I can. She said they don't have an appointment for theee weeks and it needs out ASAP xx

Thanks everyone

It's totally self inflicted I know xx

Glad its done Pheo sounds awful. hope the antibiotics kick in asap

It's still hurting, and my face is still swollen, but she did say theee days and this is day two.
It's just been making me so tired, been in bed 9pm every night.
Thanks everyone!

I hope the pain subsides soon Phoebe {{{HUGS}}} Hope your blood sugars are behaving 🙂

Infections can really take it out of you, not surprised you're going to bed early! 2-3 days is standard for anti biotics to start kicking in so fingers crossed you'll be feeling right as rain in no time 🙂

Aw Phoebe I feel for you - been there myself - I know the pain is excruciating - sending you lots of brave (((((hugs))))) it will soon be all over, take care hun x
