sorry i haven't been on since doing the post about face masks, i took ill on Wednesday morning with heart problems.

over the years i started with bad episodes of ectopics which would make me feel faint headed. did see cardiology but nothing was done and went quite a while util this Wednesday.

i got up fine went shopping but when i got back home the heart issues started. ended up with bad ectopics for nearly an hour with periods through out the day then some yesterday and some this morning.

i do have a leaky heart valve which could be causing it but at the same time the doctor thinks it could be electrical activity and am now facing been linked up to a portable monitor which links up to a phone. blood works also been done.

what is so annoying is why oh why couldn't the cardiologist have done this when they had chance to sort it out, god i am so annoyed.

just when i was getting my diabetes under some control then this happens. :(

Sorry to hear this @mikeydt1

Hope they can get to the bottom of things, and you are back fighting fit really soon

You can slightly reduce the likelihood of ectopics by not drinking tea or coffee, or sticking to decaf of either, though telling you that may be preaching to the converted.

My watch can alert me about abnormal heart rhythms, but I don’t suppose spending £400 or so on an iWatch is at the top of your priorities.

I do hope they can get you sorted soon - of all bodily symptoms, abnormal heart rhythms are the most worrying. Best wishes for a speedy outcome.

think the doctor is going along the lines of abnormal rhythms more than the heart valve. this is the 3rd bout i have had but this time it lasted longer than previous.

can be very scary stuff when they happen, i am just hoping it settles down but with having 3 bad bouts action is now needed.

will be interesting to see what the portable monitor is like just wondering where the signals are sent to.

i know in our hospital they are now using them and results or alerts are sent to the heart unit.

Sorry to hear this Mikey.
am now facing been linked up to a portable monitor
Is it a portible/"miniture" ECG machine, attached to those round stickers that go on your chest (shoulders, ankels, back, well everywhere really)? I had one of those a while ago.
which links up to a phone.
Is that an actual phone? Or one of those base units that you plug into the mains, sits beside your bed, and has a handset to pair with your device?
I've got a base unit for my defib. Used to have one when I had a reveil device.

got my appointment to have the jobs done, Ralph not sure until the device is fitted.

had a couple of more episodes one this morning but thankfully nothing like the other week.

Hope the monitor provides the clues you need @mikeydt1

flaming nerves got the better of me so round 2, i am worried as it was a cardiac arrest what took my dad clean out.

got the appointment for middle of next week early morning so at least no waiting around.

Glad to hear you’ve got your appointment, sounds like they are on your case now, let’s hope so. Keep us updated please x
