Yeah - but transplants come with their own problems - ie anti rejection drugs.
Fair enough if it's necessary to stay alive ie a heart - but is diabetes in all truth - honestly THAT bad generally?
Yes but that person would sadly still have died even if there was a cure because they were not diagnosed.Agree no way I would be wanting transplants, but diabetes is THAT bad if not controlled, it does kill - sadly known a 36 year old who didn't know he had diabetes, didn't go to doctors, he died with organ failure as a result of undiagnosed diabetes so the autopsy showed.
Chris,What is the problem?
Undiagnosed, uncontrolled blood glucose levels.Yes but that person would sadly still have died even if there was a cure because they were not diagnosed.
@Chris1980
There are plenty of other conditions that are life threatening and no cure in sight either, like asthma for instance.
Let us just be grateful for the advances in modern technology which allow us to test our BG levels so easily and provide medication to help us manage our levels and the internet together with this wonderful forum which allows us to exchange our experiences and learn how best to manage our condition.
Too many people want a quick fix in life and are disappointed when it is not available. Personally I see myself as extremely lucky to live in an age when I have so much support to manage my diabetes effectively. Yes it is not perfect and I have to make a significant effort myself, but in doing so I am living a healthier lifestyle than I was pre diagnosis and that has to be a good thing.
