A gene that helps you stay looking young has been identified – and it’s the same that produces red hair and a fair skin.

Those with the variant of the gene look on average two years younger than they actually are.

Dutch scientists found a variation of MC1R also related to differences in how old people look to other people – their perceived age.

It explains why some people appear more youthful than others.

:D My Dad was ginger. I'm reliably informed I look 10 years or so younger than I am, but it's a two-edged sword - when I was 30 people tended to ask me what school I went to, and found it difficult to take me seriously as an adult ...
