Yup I agree sounds like a false hypo to me, just like a real hypo they are horrid, however they are not in anyway dangerous !!! It's just your brain has got used to much higher levels of glucose and now thinks it's being starved, so it's sending out panic signals.
The good news is your body will get used to lower levels and stop its panicking.
Unlike a real hypo you do not need glucose to treat it, a small high protein snack may well help. Some cheese , a few nuts, a hard boiled egg etc.
Please don't be afraid of insulin, once you have the ratios right and your body is used to normal BG levels, it gets easier, I know you probably don't think so right now, but it does honest.
