have been having coffee , didt realize sweetner it had cals in it 0 carbs 20 cals I know its only a small amount but every cal mounts up N ot going to beat myself up about it, its a learning curve Im on

To be honest it makes life easier if you get to the point where you ditch sweeteners in drinks.
Back when I was about 16 or 17 I cut down sugar in coffee to the point where I was having a quarter of a teaspoon (or maybe half that - I forget), then I just stopped the sugar entirely.
For me it makes life that little bit easier by removing issues such as someone adding too much or too little sugar in when they make you a drink, your host not having sweeteners, not running out of sweeteners cos you forgot to pick up a new pack etc

OMG cant stand hot drinks without sweeteners

I know its only a small amount
By coincidence I have some peanuts and an electronic scales. I think 5 peanuts is about 20 kcals (it looks like they're around 5-6 kcals per g and peanuts are really quite light so you need about 5 to get 3-4g).

It is amazing how much our tastebuds adapt. Many many years ago I had sugar in my tea but couldn't stand it now.
I think @everydayupsanddowns mentioned something similar. (Forgive me everyday if I have confused you with someone else).
I went cold turkey but the nice thing about sweeteners/sugar in hot drinks is that you can slowly wean yourself off them with a little less each week.

I did the same - luckily, long before I developed diabetes!

What sweetener are you using? They don’t contain any calories.

page 266 carbs/cals disagrees with you saying 1 tsp has 0carbs 2 cals

Just for the record depending which one it is it may be mixed with maltodextrin which has a higher GI than sugar does. Whatever the packaging claims many of us find that this spikes blood glucose. As does maltitol for many. I’d suggest if anyone is planning on having more than the odd teaspoon (eg in baking, or in “sugar free” or “low carb” bars etc) you test before and after to check your personal response.

The supermarket apps say 0 calories. Either way it isn’t the 20 calories you said in first post.

I'd weaned myself off sugar in coffee before my diagnosis with diabetes but not in tea for some reason. On diagnosis, admitted to hospital before lunch, armfuls of blood taken, had some lunch, nurse came and said I had been officially diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, and she'd come to give me my first insulin jab, so I said OK and she did it in my thigh - I'd closed my eyes so felt her hand on my leg and the wet swab, then hands again then swabbing again so I was about to give her a piece of my mind and tell her to stop messing about and just get on with it please - and she said 'Hope that felt OK for you?' and I told her I'd never even felt it and had been about to castigate her for mucking about! - and anyway the tea trolley arrived just after and the lady said she'd been told I couldn't have sugar and they didn't have sweeteners so I said OK - cos I still had the raging thirsts at that stage anyway - and just drank it and pulled a face - but a thought crossed my mind. It did again the next afternoon (cos I'd had coffee after evening meal and Ovaltine before bed) after the next cup of tea - it is actually more thirst quenching without sugar!!
