Whats the biggest inaccuracy you have seen or heard about Diabetes

Obviously the main one for me is type 2s have to be 40+ and weight copious amounts...which is some cases is not true.

Mine is similar - that Type 1 occurs in childhood and if you're over 40 it must be Type 2!

type 1 diabetes is more serious than type 2.

we've heard it again in the sob story about Amelia in x factor.

They are both serious in their own right.

If you are taking antiretroviral drugs for HIV then your risk of Type 2 is higher.
Whoever said this has assumed that HIV only occurs if you are gay, another inaccuracy, and this was reported inaccurately in the media at some time.

I've just remembered something that was repeated to me just after I returned to school followin diagnosis.

Apparently a friend's mum thought part of my stay in hospital was because I needed to have all my blood changed.😱

It was a long time ago and people didn't have the internet. 🙄
