I am having roast chicken with roast parsnips and a medley of green veg I bought from Sainsburys. I don't mind not having the roast spuds but will have some gravy. I don't find it effects my BG much.

I have Sunday dinner rather than lunch, and today it's nut roast with balsamic cherries, crispy kale, roasted leaks and asparagus, followed by homemade dark chocolate and almond truffles and a small glass of Rioja....my lunch was celery and peanut butter!

Mmmm, that sounds fantastic - what time shall I come round? (If it's alright with you I'll skip the rioja). :D

Og God Sue - lamb was my first husband's fave and we could always afford it - even when we were skint, we could still get the frozen sort cheaply enough, and frozen shoulders (LOL) were never popular in Waitrose so could often be bought at fairly bargain prices which suited me! - but Pete can't stand the taste, or the smell of it cooking (his eldest's the same - smells sweet, horrible! they say) - as a consequence I've not eaten much of it the last 18 years.

I could eat your dinner right now NP.

I used to O/D on it in Greece on holiday LOL - but I don't really want to order lamb (cos to me it's just 'normal' fare) out in restaurants in the UK - I want to eat something DIFFERENT that you wouldn't make at home. A carvery, well I'd probably have beef - yes I have beef at home - for the simple reason that the meat on a great lump of sirloin - or better still rib! - is just so beautiful and far far better than a small piece of sirloin, it's a real treat - same as fillet steak is! (Tournedos Rossini - now - you're talking!)

Salmon with hollandaise, new pots and peas, followed by strawbs and ice cream this evening.

@Stich - how do you get paid for eating dinners and why do you eat money?

You've got about twenty minutes, so get the bike ready, the balsamic cherries are just simmering nicely. Rioja is definitely optional, I'm a lightweight three glasses a year max :D

After today's hillfest if I set off now I might just make it in time for next Sunday. :D

If I had one I'd travel back in time to before my diabetes and stuff my face!🙄

We usually have a roast on a Sunday. I haven't tried roasties since being diagnosed, but l can tolerate new pots in skins. This Sunday in Bulgaria it was undercooked meatballs, slimy chicken & rather tasteless cauliflower cheese. All the other meals in the hotel have been great, but I think their chef had the day off Sunday.😱

He was having Sunday lunch with his family.😛

I'll be home by next Sunday.:(

It's quiet but l don't mind that. There are a few places not open & getting ready for the season.
