What should I have done?

As Northerner says above best to chuck if its been faulty at any point 🙂 x

When on pre-filled I had to chuck out near a full pen as there was a huge air bubble which meant the insulin wasn't coming out as it should and no matter how many times I tapped the damn thing and air shots I did towards the ceiling it refused to budge haha x

Same thing happened to me last year. The pharmacist told me that it was probably a fault with the needle. I went home and changed the needle and everything was fine. It has not happened since but at least I now know what to do in any future event.

If ever I'm not sure about my insulin, and it's bed time, I will set the alarm for the middle of the night just to check my sugar levels. If they are above 12, I will inject a couple of units depending on the levels.

There is help for anxiety. I was petrified when I first was diagnosed. I was opposite to you. It was when I was out I would eat and not inject until I got home.

The danger of injection so long after eating is that the food will make you go high without the insulin and in the long run that isn't going to be good for you. Is there any way you can inject before you eat, then think of the the food as a reward for doing the insulin?

How long have you been diagnosed for?
