Hi All....

I was'nt sure if this has been mentioned or stated in an earlier thread/post.

But does anyone know how long the incubation period for swine flu is....I think someone mentioned to me it was about 15 days???...but can't remember for sure.

The reason I ask is that....2 family friends of my parents have been diagnosed with swine flu...both had contact with my parents, leading up to the diagnosis...so obviously Nathan's grandparents, have been in regular contact with both me and Nathan..

Sorry to ask..

Heidi
:D

I have been given tamiflu as the doctors arent sure whether i have it or not but have said that the incubation period is 5 days

The HPA say the incubation period (ie from exposure to appearance of the virus) is likely to be up to 7 days but more commonly between 2 and 5 days. They do emphasise though that as it is a new virus they cannot be totally sure of its characteristics so that may or may not be accurate.

Hi Aymes & Tasha

Thank you for your replies......Not sure where I got 15 days from:confused:......may be it was when I was talking to a friend about childhood illnesses.
