Hi
I have gone from taking 2000 mg a day of Metformin to 1000mg a day. Is on waking and taking my b/s readings between 5.7 and 6.5 to high, any other part of the day I am usually in between 5 and 7.5 before and after eating and never go in to double figures.

Sounds like you are doing great.

For an insulin user 5 is the recommended minimum on waking, which gives a pretty tiny target of 5-6.5 if you want any wiggle-room to keep post-breakfast readings below 9 at 2 hours.

But if you are keeping out of double figures after meals and mostly 5-7.5 then you are on track for a pretty perky HbA1c I reckon!

After figures averaging in the mid teens, with the blessing of my Doc I've joined Slimming World. Three weeks into this now and I'm over the moon with wake up figures of 8 ish,
and pre-meal daytime figures of even less. Well pleased, and a 9lb loss is a bonus. A £15 loss is less of a bonus. :(

Very well done keep up the good work, I have lost 6 stone since February without going to slimming world and saving myself a bit of money, I just cut out a lot of carbs worked wonders for me.

T2s should be between 4 and 7 fasting and below 8.5 post-prandial, so your numbers are in range. Now you have to ensure they stay there. Looks like you're doing well so far.
