Previously, I used to have weetabix and semi skimmed milk before I got diagnosed with T2. However now I'm stuck on what to have for breakfast. I have had some fruit in a morning but find that it isn't really filling.
I normally have my breakfast at work because I never feel hungry before I leave the house.
I'm very open to suggestions from you lovely folks!

Hi I keep it simple so have the same thing every morning,Lidl Milbona Greek yoghurt full fat version(1kg tub £1.50)I have 150g,I add Mixed berries from Aldi called four seasons fruit mix which comes frozen in a large bag I have 70g of that they are quite low carb, thawed in warm water for 10 mins before adding to the yoghurt,I then add 2tsps of chi seeds from Aldi along with 2 tsps of Linseeds from Aldi
Tomorrow morning I will be having two slices of Nimble bread with some mushroom pate on, followed by a small bag of crisps and an apple. It doesn't seem to spike my sugar levels to badly and stops me snacking till lunch, which may well be 50g of dry roasted nuts. 🙂
Sometimes a toasted slice of Burgen Soya & Linseed bread with a scraping of either Flora Pro Active or Benecol with a small tin of sugar free baked beans.
Other times it’s a toast with either a tin of sardines or mackerel in brine, drained obviously!
I usually have a permutation of the following: one slice toasted Burgen or Nimble, or 2x Livlife, with stirfried mushrooms & couple of tomatoes/scrambled eggs/bacon/fried egg. I don't much like cold food in the mornings so wouldn't fancy yogurt, berries or the like. I have a large mug of coffee (Marauders Map mug from Harry Potter store 🙂) with semi skimmed milk.
My appetite and eating are all in confusion at the moment - hardly eating at all, BUT my usual first meal has been a huge salad or a fry up - with a mug of coffee with cream.
After that I did not need to eat all day.
At the moment it is half past three PM and I have not eaten anything - just no appetite. It is since I got thoroughly overheated being outside in the afternoon heat on the bank holiday Saturday - I did get some fluids, but not enough, from noon until after 4 o'clock. I don't feel unwell or anything - just no wish to eat.
I have a big bowl of fruit and melon and an extra-large soy (Bonsoy) flat white with 30g of chia seeds poured into it.
Depending on the phase of the moon etc etc, this can give me a fairly pointy BG spike, sometimes up to 8.0 according to a Libre sensor when I'm wearing one - which is pretty pointy for me these days.
I've worked out (I think) that it's mainly due to the Bonsoy. I love the stuff but it contains Job's Tears, a type of Asian grain, I guess as a thickening agent, and grains continue to be about the only thing which does much to my BG.
Job's Tears is a nice name, however, and who cares about an 8 for breakfast!

How about preparing the night before and storing in a tub to take to work. A boiled sliced egg, chunky slice of ham, chopped tomatoes, and don't forget the fork.
I have had a mug of coffee with cream, and a slice of corned beef when I made my husband a sandwich, with a slice of the tomato I cut for him.
I am not eating nothing at all, but now it is quarter to ten and I am really struggling to find motivation to cook any food - poor man has been going to the fish and chip shop so often these last weeks....

Well I certainly understand the lack of motivation to cook, I am the same, I have very little interest in food and therefore at times I make bad choices. I hope your appetite returns or you will run out of energy. Take care x
I am Type 1 with the option to use insulin, so I have more flexibility than many Type 2s but I prefer to eat low carb. Depending upon time constraints I will have a 2 egg omelette with a variety of the following ingredients mushrooms/onion/courgettes/peppers/ham/cheese with a large side salad of green leaves with a couple of cherry tomatoes, cucumber and avocado or cheese coleslaw.....
... or
a Nature Valley Salted Caramel or Chocolate Peanut protein bar which comes in at just under 10g carbs and I can just grab and go.....
... or
Ella Nutty Granola with Lidl's Milbona Creamy Greek Natural Yoghurt and perhaps a few raspberries. The granola is just under 50g/100g carbs so a 30g portion with a few rasps and a dollop of yoghurt gets me to about 20g carbs.
Very occasionally I will have a full fry up with mushrooms tomato bacon egg and a high meat content sausage with a side salad which seems odd but I really enjoy it. I don't eat bread anymore so no toast or fried bread or hash browns.... or baked beans.
Sometimes I just have a coffee with cream and a chunk of cheese and then I often have the omelette for lunch.
It often depends on how I am feeling, what my morning plans are, how much time I have and what my fasting BG reading is.
I normally have 30 gms of Lidl Really Nutty muesli with a small sliced banana. I usually follow this with either a fry up of bacon, egg, mushroom and tomato or a Burgen sandwich with fried bacon or tomato and basil. A nice cup of creamy coffee is of-course a constant.
