I never did have a sweet tooth so not had to give up anything on that front, though I will miss mince pies and Xmas cake next year. I have found I can still have pannetone with coffee for breakfast without any spikes (not every day!).
I have cut right back on potatoes, bread and rice. I still have smaller than previous portions of pasta with lots of veggies and a glass of red wine 🙂

I gave up cherry bakewells, jam tarts, all pastry products, cereals, white bread, potatoes, pasta & choc bars such as Sbickers & Mars. I had a very sweet tooth & eat sweet things to excess. I was in the post office yesterday & they have a £1 section near the queue of all the bad stuff. I stared at a lemon swiss roll & dreamt of eating the whole damn thing!

Nothing at all, just a few moderations due to coeliac now.

I have not strictly given anything up. I still indulge in pretty much everything that I did before.

However, what I have given up (except when I have a totally crazy moment), is binge eating crisps, biscuits, cakes, sweets etc. But, the crazy moments I now have are few and far between and even then it isn't at the same level as before.

Also, portion sizes of my favourite carbs are much reduced (e.g. rice, potatoes etc) but not 'disastrously' so.

Andy

Fruit scones is my thing. Has to be a special occasion only now and get the good ones to make it a real treat.

For me the biggest thing (bearing in mind I was 7 at diagnosis lol) was Cadbury mini rolls. I cried when I found out i couldn't have them anymore haha!

I always said, it wasn't so bad for meas it is for kiddies - since I'd been able to fully enjoy treats like that, or Crunchies, Mars Bars, Fry's 5 Boys, iced gems, pineapple rock (still miss that!) Wagon Wheels .... with no prob whatever. Not that we got any of em that often really - but we COULD have em, that's the thing.

You could relive your childhood and treat yourself now though Sprog ! But - not the whole box at once LOL

Lol that's my issue, if I start on logic like that before I know it I've eaten the whole box haha! I never learnt self control apparently!

Ah well buy a box at lunchtime, take back to work, remove one and hand the rest round !

Something I became quite adept at doing over the years! Can't do it now we'e retired LOL

I haven't had Christmas pudding in the last 3 years. :(

You're all making me feel hungry for what I gave up:-
Custard tarts,
Danish pastries
yes & jaffa cakes too
Slabs of coffee cake with coffee icing on top
Christmas cake
White rice
White bread but I don't mind now coz Bergen Soya & linseed bread is for me now
Grapes
Jammy dodgers
+ lots more. A big ask but I did it! Yeah!
Well done to peeps above.

Dx Type2 April 2016

I changed this earlier on today - which erm.... now contradicts things even more so !!!!!!

Anyone who puts ice in Laphroaig should be taken outside and shot.😎

Any judge on Islay would rule no case to answer.🙂
Trying to cut out the ice but it makes it last longer (well longer than usual). I'll be safe if I don't travel to Islay or bump into the Judge . Are they as strict with a Snickers

Drinking it in the rain will also make it last longer.:D

fizzy and sour sweets. Haribo tangfastics for instance. Any fizzy sweets really...

and pretty much everything else, cream cakes, biscuits, pasties etc. But its really the fizzy sweets for me that I find hardest. Especially in the nights if I get a craving.....
