I would think that it meant that your symptoms were not the usual ones that would be associated with a stroke Tracey.

thank you alan, that has reasured me 🙂

Hei Tracey,

The more you worry about your symptoms, the more they become very worriesome and it could be stress related. The fact that you weren't admitted there and then, is a good sign and the fact that your symptoms are not atypical.

I'm sure the GP isn't taking any chances and just wants to rule everything out before making his/her diagnosis.

thanks everyone.
well im back from seeing my gp. she wasnt very bothered about the sore throat but was very worried about the pins an needles ive been having, she wanted to admit me to hospital today as she thinks it could have been a mini stroke, but i didnt want to go an started crying so she booked me an emergency appointment for tests which i cant remember are called an has put me on asprin. if i get any worse i have to go striaght to a&e. im realy scared now, whats going to happen now, have i not had enough problems with this stupid diabetes:(
sorry for the moan.

Hi Tracey I'm really sorry to hear about this. It's excellent that your GP is on the case with the tests and the daily aspirin will do a great job with regard to thinning out your blood. It is very scary when something like this happens but, if at all possible, try to find things to do to take your mind off of it. I'm not sure if anyone ele has suggested this but you might want to contact the Stroke Association for further advice. Their website address is http://www.stroke.org.uk/

Thinking of you and big hugs

Hi Tracey, I'm glad they have organised the scans so quickly for you, don't be worried about them, the CT scan is pretty quick and the MRI is longer and noisier but even then I was only in for about 10 minutes. The fact that you have been told by the stroke nurse that your symptoms are Atypical reinforces what I said yesterday, it doesn't sound like a stroke, stress or all sorts of other things can trigger strange symptoms so am hoping for your sake that this is what it is. All the very best for the scans, and I will be interested to hear how you get on so do let us know. Take care, love Karen.xx
