it just seems to be one thing after the other going wrong with me.
a week ago when going to bed i took what i can only decribe as numbness an pins an needles in my face, they then went into both my arms an then my knees, it was very scary. on monday i took a pain at side of my throat and have a sore lump, no sore throat though but sore teeth. this morning i have woke up with the pins an needles in my face again.
i suffer nuropathy in my feet, could it be spreading through my body, this is realy scaring me.
any help would be apprecated.

Have you had a cold or anything recently? It might be sinus problems or tooth trouble. It is worth getting it checked out to rule out all possibilties. See the doctor and the dentist who will put your mind at rest. I suggest also making sure there are no draughts, we have had some quite warm evenings, have you been sleeping with a window open? I hope you feel better and get some relief soon

Trace to put your mind at ease at the least then i'd get to the doctors hun,in the mean time put something cold on your face, you could have pinched nerve in your face but only way to settle your worries is the doctor hun xx

Also it could be anxiety and stress related, sometime when im stressed the side of my face twitches .

thanks caroline an steff.
im gonna see if i can get an appointment for this morn, sometimes thats quite hard though but ill ring anyways an see if they can fit me in. 🙂

If there are no appoinments say to the receptionist you are very very worried so you will go to the hospital and see what they say in A & E. The main thing is to get help quickly for your own peace of mind

thanks guys, well ive managed to get an appointment for 10 this morning so fingers crossed it wont be anything serious. i realy dont want to have to add anymore onto my already long list of problems.

Good luck with the appointment Tracey - it definitely sounds like you need a Dr to take a look.

Hi traceycat I would go and have a chat with a nurse or your doctor. It's probably nothing, but best to get it checked out, to give yourself peace of mind. I hope you feel better soon. Please let us know how you get on. Take care Sheena

Sorry to hear this but as Steff and others have said the only way to be sure is seeing your GP! I do hope all goes well at your appointment and the doc can put your mind at rest,

take care,

shirl

Best get it looked at by GP. I can think of one very possible reason for such symptoms, plus possible treatment, but will leave it to GP to diagnose, with the advantage of examining patient face to face.

thanks everyone.
well im back from seeing my gp. she wasnt very bothered about the sore throat but was very worried about the pins an needles ive been having, she wanted to admit me to hospital today as she thinks it could have been a mini stroke, but i didnt want to go an started crying so she booked me an emergency appointment for tests which i cant remember are called an has put me on asprin. if i get any worse i have to go striaght to a&e. im realy scared now, whats going to happen now, have i not had enough problems with this stupid diabetes:(
sorry for the moan.

about four years ago i had something similar.

Let me start by saying that i was about 37 and i am having similar symptoms. These would come and go. I remember sitting in the the cinema watching Return of the King a three hour film and it starting. Numbness and a tingling on my face.

All i could put it down too was stress/panic attacks i am still not sure what caused them.

Like everyone one else here i would try a rest and try to keep calm. And if it gets worse and you are still worried do what the doctor has suggested.

Please try and keep calm we are all here to help.

Let us all know how you are getting on

thanks everyone.

Hi again I think your dr probably means a TIA it's a stroke that passes through your body. A couple of months ago I had a droopy eye and also numbness/different sensation on the right side of my face, my dr put me straight on to Asprin, but I don't take them now. It turned out not to be a TIA ( most times with a TIA, when the stroke passes through it can make you pass out for a very short time, I didn't) the stroke dr thought it was Horners Syndrome, but now doesn't think it could be that either so now I am going to be sent an appointment with a Neurologist. Try not to worry to much, its hard I know, but with investigations you will get to the bottom of it in the end. Sheena x

If it was very serious the doctor would have had you in an ambulance and admited to hospital rather than organise tests.

I hope it is one of those things that passes, but the main thing is you are getting help and it will be seen to.

Try not to worry, if the doctor was convinced it was a mini stroke you would have definitely had to go to hospital. I had a stroke 10 months ago and it only affected one side of my body, I think it is very odd that this affected both sides and doesn't sound like a stroke to me. I know you are scared, and I know what that feels like believe me! It's good you are going to have tests but in the meantime, do get more advice if anything else feels funny. I really hope it turns out to be nothing too worrying but I do understand how frightening it is, Lots of Love, Karen.xx

thanks everyone,
