I usually have soup for lunch with a couple of ryvitas (i'm trying to lose weight as well) and wondered what else i could have with the soup that would be filling and not too damaging on the BS levels? I sometimes have a slice of burgen bread but can't really think of anything else

The only other thing I can suggest is oatcakes. They're filling and low GI and I think fairly low fat depending on the brand. I would recommend Nairns 🙂

Im a soup and ryvitas girl too have you tried all the different flavours ?

I to am a soup and ryvita girl as well 🙂

Im a soup and wotsits girl me, or i used to be now im soup and ryvita too.

] probably not exactly the answer that your looking for but maybe you might like to try bulking out the soup with pulses/beans? very filling and lots of fibre, pretty good in terms of bs too.

just a quick suggestion hun xxx

thanks for all your suggestions, I will definately have the oatcakes for a change and will bulk my soups up with say kidney beans, chick peas, lentils etc (i hadn't thought of that, good suggestion there)

on the pulses/beans front you can buy them tinned which you can just pop into any soups and sainsburys often do a deal of 5 tins for ?2 or you can buy huge 1kg bags of dried versions (aswell as smaller bags of dried versions) from sainsburys, asda etc. if you buy the dried versions you can soak/boil a whole lot at once then freeze the rest. once you've frozen them you can then just add them to soups as required. this makes it a little easier
when you only want to use a small quantity at once.
