What is the best thing to eat on blood sugars registering at 21??? (For a week) I've been suffering from two infections so it's nothing to do with eating the wrong things. I'm starving in fact as I'm too scarred to eat!!

Hi Laura a warm welcome to the forum, id be visiting the hospital not the fridge if i had those levels for even 48 hours hun, thats very high for a matter of hours never mind days . Even with infection I would wprry over the levels still. Of course its entirely upto you, I would drink water like a fish .

By not eating your liver may think that you are starving and dump glucose into your system which drives up your BGs ! Eggs are good and easy to cook ,cheese ,cooked meat are low carb veg soup using above ground veg and a stock cube is tasty if you can be bothered to cook if you are feeling I'll

Hello Laura, sorry it's going badly for you at the min.

May I suggest some fish, its zero carbs but lots of protein.

Asda have loads, I had smoked Cod fillets yesterday, they were very tasty and did not spike my numbers.
Be aware though, everyone is different re food tolerances.

If you don't like them, Bubbsie will refund you.

Hello Laura. Welcome. Sorry to hear you're ill.
TBH like @Steff with those high levels for as long as you've had them, I think you should should go to hospital or at least back to the gp, call the gp out if necessary.
Do let us know how you get on
As to what to eat. I suggest quick and simple things till your feeling a bit better ie Eggs cooked anyway you like, I like scrambled eggs with cheese.
Cheese, mushrooms, high meat content sausages or burgers, a typical breakfast fry up without any form of potatoes or beans is easy to do and provided you opt for high meat content sausages etc it's low carb.

Thank you for all your advice my BG is still registering dramatic ups and downs. Highest 27 to 13. This has been going on for over a week now. I think it's the infections. The hospital and doctors don't seem that concerned about my levels.

How long have you been diagnosed and is your diagnoses correct?

I've been diagnosed since December 2016 and haven't been given much info at all. I was advised to go on a course but it fell in my working hours and my pay would be cut. On a low wage anyway.
