I was just wondering what you thought of this so much false news and information overload i have no idea whats going on, anyway looks like i now have to turn hippy loll and get a kaftan sorry not going to happen i was a mod

Yep, eat loads of potatoes. That's still vegan, but just watch the results. 😉

One of the strategies touted is a HCLF plant based vegan diet, don't know much as the research tends to point to fanatic vegan sites. Some of the principles involved is much like my own approach like "Minimally Processed" & "Quality ingredients"

And lots of fruit 😡 I'd be feeling so

I suppose it depends what these people are eating before. A previous diet of McDonalds, pizza and fast food would be exacerbating it anyway without having to resort to a Vegan diet. It's about balance not extremes I reckon.

A vegan diet doesn't have to be high carb. I was on a balanced vegan diet for about 4 years then for sake of family harmony went back to being just a veggie. 🙄

In this case if it's working for them then fair play. Anything's worth a try. Wish I had the chance because as a T1 I could go zero carb and run a marathon every day - apart from wasting away I'd still require insulin. :(

Agreed, I was only joshing. 🙂

I didn't listen to the link at all (really couldn't care less what was said on it to be honest). However, I would say that a vegan on a balanced vegan diet getting all the correct nutrients is fine and dandy by me.

If the type 2 diabetes symptoms are reversed as a result of being on that diet, then all to the good too. But, no-one reverses type 2 diabetes at the moment. If someone reverts to their previous diet/lifestyle thinking that they are now ok, the symptoms will simply re-develop (probably!).

Andy 🙂

The article didn't go into how to implement the diet, one needs to look at sources of protein to balance the diet, nuts, pulses & beans, all of which are low GI..... I's all about modifying your diet to suit your body, I'm absolutely sure that the results were cherry picked & exaggerated; portraying the failures never even entered the discussion.
