I thought that at the first time I looked. I have the basic bracelet which was about ?20 and the ?25 yearly subs seems steep, however I do travel a lot round the country and France so if I were taken ill or involved in a crash someone would be able to contact my relatives easily.

Ah that sounds a bit better, I must have been looking in the wrong lace. Yes I should think you do need one. I do carry a card, but would be handy to have something to wear when swimming, running etc. Also got 'diabetes' written in my mobile phone, under ICE (In Case if Emergency) with my peferred contact person.

Apparently I'm allergic to fur and feather. This comes as somewhat of a surprise as I have a dog who jumps all over me constantly. That and erythromycin. Give me the shits some terrible that antibiotic does. Strang thing is, it's penicillin derivative yet I'm fine on things like penicillin and amoxycillin. How does that work out?

hahahahaha your just strange mate!!!!!!!!

Penicillin have been since I was tiny but the hospital still pumped me full of it when diagnosed in Dec and then wondered why I came out in an angry red rash and started swelling up!!!!

I am alergic to all kinds of micropor plaster and Daz washing powder

I get red and itchy if micropore is left on my skin too long. When I had the upper part of my ear pierced I found that I was allergic to stainless steel (only in my ears).. when I mentioned this to someone they replied.. "does that mean you cant use a knife and fork"... the next time I had the upper part of my ear pierced I had it done with medical grade plastic and that had a nasty effect on my ear as well.. I can wear gold or silver only, but now I find that even that can make my ears itchy and sore.

I take an antihistamine 365 days a year now, got it prescribed by my GP as the over the counter ones werent having an effect on me.. cat hair is a killer (without antihistamins), my eyes swell up, I sneeze and itch.. good job I dont have pets lol.. then there is the usual pollen allergies..

Got oral thrush after taking penicillen V a few months ago and man that was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sore.

I'm allergic to some metals, like the rivets on jeans - bring the area beneath it out in a red rash - ironically, have sometimes got round this by covering the rivet with a plaster. Also can only comfortably wear silver earrings for any length of time (pierced ears) otherwise get itchy lobes! However, don't seem to have a problem with rings (On fingers that is!)

Where do you get your medicalert bracelets from?

Hi runner,
Paint the posts of your earring with clear nail varnish, also the rivets on your jeans. something to do with the nickle in the metal... it does work my sister is the same.. saw this tip in a magazine and told her...worked a treat.

Cheers, I'll have a go. there was something I bought once to paint on the earring postsd, but it didn't seem to work. But sounds good for the rivets!
