Tested first thing this morning - 7.4
During the day I ate almost no carbs.
Tested again at 7pm before my main meal and the result was 9.4
I thought the fewer carbs then the more likely the reading would go down, so why the increase?

I wasn't deliberately keeping the carbs that low, it was just the way it worked out. My main meal had around 30g carbs

Type 2 diagnosed Nov 23, 2000g Mettformin

The liver can sometimes be helpful and release glucose when you don't eat carbs especially if you have been doing exercise.
It would be interesting to see what your level will be 2 hours after your 30g carb meal if your premeal was 9.4

The body is constantly producing glucose when there are no dietary sources coming in.
However, people with T2 diabetes tend to overproduce and this leads to rising levels, even when nothing has been eaten, and the problems associated with insulin resistance and lack of insulin mean levels might struggle to come down.

Other things can made glucose go up, such as exercise.

I will post it later
