Another really bad hypo in the early hours (1.4!) and an awful bounce up to 30.1 then another fall into the twos (in hospital by then). My brother had to call an ambulance, I was in a terrible mess. I woke him up with my banging about trying to find something to eat, and then I was sick (thankfully on the kitchen floor so it was easy to clean up, not that I did - must have been the pixies. The EMTs gave me some glucagel (? I think, they gave me something horrid anyway) and I had some toast with jam as my numbers came back up. About two hours later they ell me I hit the 30.1 and they had to give me insulin. Then I fell over and finally got carted back to the Raigmore Hilton for a few hours because they thought I'd had a fit when I was just really, really dizzy. There I stayed till things had calmed down having another hypo on the way.

I just got back and I'm in my bed feeling like something the cat dragged in but at least my BGs are where they ought to be. I've been taken off the anti-virals because they reckon the fun I've been having could be due to those rather than the weather. I still feel sick though, and I hurt all over and I seem to have picked a whole crop of bruises. I look like I lost a fight with Mike Tyson (just checked, still got both ears).

It baffles me how I can get that low and still sort of function, remaining conscious, if a bit flaky. Then conk out at 30 when other folk are still going.

Oh no, how awful for you! Glad you are home and BGs back to normal now, hope they stay that way now you are off the meds. I'm the same as you, still function as low as 1.6 but can't cope with the highs, much above 25 and I'm done in.

Take care.

Hi Alison,

Sorry to hear you have been so poorly. Hope you are feeling better now.

Alison that sounds awful. I hope it doesn't happen again and that you feel better very soon xx

Really sorry to hear this Alison :( I've been able to function (just about!) with a 1.7 - even lower if I think to the time when I injected then fell asleep which was pretty close to not waking up 😱

You'd had such good numbers for a while then you get all this, I really feel for you. Hope things stabilise for you now and you can restore your strength soon.
