Hi Lesleyann

Taking a guess that your Gp will talk you through the various types of weight loss surgery and their implications and consequences. Go with a list of questions and get as much out of your appt as possible.

will do thanks

One thing I find rather ironic is that there is often advice to follow a low carb diet both before and after surgery.
I have read the reaction of several people who had rapid weight loss and decided to put off the surgery and continue with the diet to see just how much weight they could lose by that means. For most of them it was the first time they had felt in control of their own body in a long time, and relinquishing that to the surgeon was one reason for deciding not to go ahead. One found that she was pregnant - having opted for surgery due to PCOS.

I've always been against it. I was offered it recently and after looking into it I've definitely decided not to have it. 'They' say it might cause dementia in the long term and also you have to take vitamins for life. It's just not natural. People lose weight and are doing fine then they have the op. Why can't they just carry on losing weight by themselves instead of mutilating their insides?
