I feel a bit embarrassed to post this but here goes. I have lost over 13 kilos since diagnosis and am now in the underweight bit of the chart. As I try to curb carbohydrates to keep BG levels low what can I do to not loose any more weight? People are starting to notice and I can't wear quite a lot of my clothes because they are too big. Apologies to all who I know struggle with overweight issues. I was in the normal range to start with and don't want to get too thin. 🙂

Hi HD, whilst I'm in the fat-and-trying-to-get-thinner camp, I can sympathise. My ex-husband could not gain weight, despite eating enormous quantities of really unhealthy foods. All I can suggest is to add more of the healthy type of fat (e.g. olive oil) to your diet and see what happens.

Have you thought about a gym? Dont panic - I dont mean to look like a body builder. I have a few friends who go to the gym to do some gentle weight strengthening exercises - and it seems to work for them? The gym isn't just for weight loss? Or I wonder if there is a workout you could do at home thats similar?

Thank you for your replies. I'll just keep trying. I have joined the Gym but have had a bug and not been at all last week :(. My waist measurement is apparently slightly too large although I seem to have lost weight everywhere else. Just been out at a meeting where there was a wonderful spread of food. I could not have most of it though, but that no longer bothers me. I miss fruit. Thanks again. 🙂

I love fruit too and my nurse told me I am allowed to eat 3 pieces of fruit a day and no more. And the each piece of fruit must fit it your palm and no bigger. Fo example one tangerine, one apple and a wee bunch of grapes. Better that Han nothing at all 🙂

I can sympathise, although I am a fat who needs to be thin. hubby spent years trying to gain weight with out much joy, heas even given stuff to put weight on the didn't work.

Many people struggle with weight problems in one way or another. I can't offer any suggestions except perhaps the doctor might refer you to a dietician or nutritionist for help. I hope you get a solution soon.
