Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi, is weight better controlled using insulin (Humulin I) or oral meds?
I saw something on tv ( a soap) about a young girl diagnosed with diabetes and was scared to take her injections in case she became fatter.
I myself, have lost weight, thankfully, but I’m just inquisitive as to the facts on weight gain/ loss.
Thank you.

I think that you cannot rely on information in soaps to be particularly accurate.
Often one of the factors that indicates a diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes is a sudden loss of weight and taking insulin will help to halt the weight loss but that is a very different situation to people who are Type 2 diabetic.
Don't confuse the two conditions as they are different.
If Type 1 then it would be very dangerous and life threatening for somebody not to take their insulin even though somebody might think of it as a way of remaining thin.
