Hi, Newbie on here, I was going to say hope everyone is well but if you were you wouldn't be here lol...
My question is can anyone explain why my weekday fasting reading is always higher then my weekend one,
I tend to be more vigilant of diet and exercise during the week so i thought the reading should be the opposite.
Is work stress a factor?
Im averaging 6.3 over last 14 days..5.6 weekends but sometimes 7.4 weekdays
Thank Don

Could certainly be stress.

Are you perchance at work during the week - and able to relax more at the weekend? How do your weekdays compare to the weekends - different activities, different mealtimes, different bedtimes or getting out of bed times, different clothes, different people, different food - different anything whatever ?

Yes Jenny.
Don't work weekends. Bed later, a few drinks , meals and times different.. It just bugs me that my BG is higher on weekdays as i would be more vigilante about diet, no alcohol, regular sleep and exercise..Can't get my levels to match weekends..
More alcohol on school-nights???

It's probably the alcohol! For every unit of alcohol you consume, your liver takes an hour dealing with it, and during that time it can’t trickle out its normal glucose. (One of the symptoms of a hangover for people without diabetes is the ghastly feeling of low blood sugar).

I had different insulin profiles for weekdays and weekends, and also have to make allowances for any alcohol that I have at the weekend. As Robin says when the liver is dealing with the alcohol it cannot be dealing with giving you any glucose, as it would normally.
