Not able to at the moment, but will review on catchup

Police are given powers to fine and disperse groups of more than two people! (apart from people in your household) - Only allowed out for food/medical supplies/medical need, going to work, or to provide care or help vulnerable person - see broadcast for full details.

You can go out for exercise (parks remain open for this purpose) - once a day. All non essential shop are to close.. ....seems we are following Italy.

I really hope it works and people listen.

The going to work had the provisor of "if you Have to".
They've just been playing the anouncement (Borris Johnson & PM(?) of Scotland) & now talking about it on BBC Radio 4.
Also includes all non essential shops closing.
Normally radio programmes are available on-line & in BBC Sounds app (on Android ect.) I don't know if this is. It's a change to the schedule (Analysis: The roots of "Woke" culture), and I don't know if they tech system can cope with this.

Its about time, frankly. After what i saw at the weekend with people massing at beach, parks, shopping centres, like it was a holiday! i was shocked.

They've just added a bit about limiting medication.
If you've been getting it monthly, you'll only be about to get it after a month!
(Paraphrased.)
Well that's been the case for some time as fare as I knew!

I usually get 2 month's supply on my prescription

That is no excuse. The stupidity of those who gathered together to spread the virus is beyond what the government could stand, all their advice ignored. If people can’t behave like sensible adults, you have to treat them like children. We are all gated as a consequence. I have no problem with it. Not for three weeks. My brother, who has CLL, is not to go out for three months.

Nor Pete with COPD either Mike. I bet your brother like my OH is immensely grateful he is allowed to open A window!

uk lockdown
How will they enforce the lockdown, will they have police or army patrols to ask why you are going out, otherwise what happens if you take a morning walk, then realise you need to go to the sweet shop to buy some jelly babies to bring blood sugar up, how would they know unless they have checkpoints where you have to give your name and reason you are out, and whoever is manning the checkpoint puts your name and address onto a database, or will you be stopped at random by a police officer or someone from the army

You are allowed out for the purpose of exercise, including just a daily walk. The sweet shop won’t be open - non essential.

From the .gov page...

The single most important action we can all take, in fighting coronavirus, is to stay at home in order to protect the NHS and save lives.

When we reduce our day-to-day contact with other people, we will reduce the spread of the infection. That is why the government is now (23 March 2020) introducing three new measures.

  1. Requiring people to stay at home, except for very limited purposes
  2. Closing non-essential shops and community spaces
  3. Stopping all gatherings of more than two people in public
Every citizen must comply with these new measures. The relevant authorities, including the police, will be given the powers to enforce them – including through fines and dispersing gatherings.

the sweet shop would be open, as newsagents can stay open, but are they going to have more police to check on where people are going or trust people to do the right thing

If they just sorted out the online shopping and got the chemists organised into delivering the meds like they always used to I wouldn't have to go out at all. I won't survive this if I haven't already had it. :( Neither will most of my family, there's not a one of us 100% fit. I was going shopping tomorrow with my sister, the highlight of my week but now she's scared and her hubby doesn't want her going out so it'll be me and nephew. My sister now thinks we haven't had it after seeing those very poorly peoples on the telly. I am officially scared now. I was okay before. :(

Its these sorts of posts that course alarm and panic (as in food shopping) we receive 1 months
worth of medication, no more, no less.. the same applies until the next month.

So please, less of the scaremongering !

newsagents sell sweets, so would be open, but if you had to pop out to get something quick, they are not necessarily going to know, and you wouldnt be at a gathering, so how would they find out, unless the police are going to be patrolling, and asking people why they are out, and if they have been out already

I’ve been told I still have to work as we are classed as essential hubby’s been told to go in to work tomorrow I really hope they close his store as I’m so worried about childcare. Even if we are both now classed as key workers I think I’ve missed being able to send them into school as deadline was Friday.

does this mean I can still collect and deliver my parents prescriptions and shopping? I’m in absolute bits. when I’ve dropped things off this week I can already see a change in dad when I said he might not be able to see the kids as much. They do so much for his mental health I know it’s going to absolutely break him

on lock down people have permission to go shopping for food along with been allowed to go to the chemists and doctors along with one daily exercise.

the worry even with lock down is that in Italy the infection rate has still been rocketing along with death rates so all we can do is see if this works.

surprised that our borders are still open unlike most others so people are still coming who could be carriers, only yesterday the GOV were telling Britts to come back home sort of speaks for itself.

in the mean time people keep safe as best as possible under these extreme circumstances.
