uk lockdown
How will they enforce the lockdown, will they have police or army patrols to ask why you are going out, otherwise what happens if you take a morning walk, then realise you need to go to the sweet shop to buy some jelly babies to bring blood sugar up, how would they know unless they have checkpoints where you have to give your name and reason you are out, and whoever is manning the checkpoint puts your name and address onto a database, or will you be stopped at random by a police officer or someone from the army
the sweet shop would be open, as newsagents can stay open, but are they going to have more police to check on where people are going or trust people to do the right thingFrom the .gov page...
The single most important action we can all take, in fighting coronavirus, is to stay at home in order to protect the NHS and save lives.
When we reduce our day-to-day contact with other people, we will reduce the spread of the infection. That is why the government is now (23 March 2020) introducing three new measures.
Every citizen must comply with these new measures. The relevant authorities, including the police, will be given the powers to enforce them – including through fines and dispersing gatherings.
- Requiring people to stay at home, except for very limited purposes
- Closing non-essential shops and community spaces
- Stopping all gatherings of more than two people in public

newsagents sell sweets, so would be open, but if you had to pop out to get something quick, they are not necessarily going to know, and you wouldnt be at a gathering, so how would they find out, unless the police are going to be patrolling, and asking people why they are out, and if they have been out alreadyYou are allowed out for the purpose of exercise, including just a daily walk. The sweet shop won’t be open - non essential.
