At risk of diabetes
Hi I'm new on here, just waiting for 2nd blood test to determine if I'm at risk of type 2. I've researched, lost a little weight and am running but I feel like I'm flitting from one view point to another. I would appreciate how anyone else manages, what works best etc to stay healthy. Thank you

Hi Phoebe, welcome to the forum 🙂 You've made a good start, and it's all worth doing whether you receive confirmation of a diagnosis or not - a diet and lifestyle that is suitable for a person with diabetes is suitable for everyone! 🙂 If you want a good general guide then I'd suggest having a read of Maggie Davey's letter, which is a tried and tested source of information that has stood the test of time 🙂 There are plenty of quick-fix 'cures' around, but the truth is that this is something that needs to become a fundamentally new way of doing things, that is sustainable, and that can actually be enjoyable! 🙂

Let us know if you have any questions and also how things go with your test 🙂

Hi @Phoebe and welcome. Let’s hope your results aren’t too bad and that you can make good changes that will reverse your possible T2. I agree with the low carbs and exercise, you can’t lose by it and e are all here to help in anyway we can x

Hi @Phoebe welcome to the forum 🙂 I started on 4 x metformin a day but a year later and 4 stone lighter thanks to the diet and lifestyle changes, I’m back within normal range and diet controlled :D I follow a low carb diet and try to limit to between 50 to 100 carbs a day max, for exercise I borrow my neighbours dog and walk whenever I can. You will find all you need to know here so do take some time to read back and ask any questions you might have 😉
