Hi all, I've seen that the NHS offer a vlcd option in some areas for patients with diabetes.

Any idea what brand soups/shakes they use?

Im trying to see if I can fund this myself

Hi, I've just started on the NHS Diabetes Remission Programme - it's not just the fact that it's fully funded but you get a lot of other support to check it's safe for you plus they liaise with your GP about whether any meds changes are needed.
I'm with Oviva who use Altralife, though I believe an alternative is used if your vegan (which really reduces your options)

One lot of 4 weeks supply came up as £129 before the NHS voucher made it nil- BUT I'd strongly recommend talking to your GP surgery about getting referred for the 12 month support plan. Importantly it includes a 4-6 week period of supported, safe, gradual return to eating food and then continues for the rest of the year.

Only took me 5 weeks from my 1st Diabetes review where I was told it was an option (tipped from bring pre-diabetic for 6+ years after putting weight on after neck surgery). I'm the first in our practice to do it so GP was very interested when we spoke to sort out my meds.

Good luck! (I'd lost 3lb in the 2 weeks before starting & after my first week had lost 6lb!) It's deadly boring but very simple

Hi I think it is called ….Shake the Weight.

Herefordshire & Worcestershire its Altralife. You'll need to take soluble fibre as well to avoid constipation.
