Hospital have taken me off my concoction of drugs and given me a humalog mix.
I was so relieved I could have kissed her.
She wants to move me onto a basal bolus routine soon.
So happy that I'm finally getting listened to!

Fantastic news Megan. So pleased for you 🙂

Thanks everyone

Did my first injection this morning and it went very well 🙂

Great news Megan, I'm glad that your first injection went well

Injection was good but hasn't done much to my levels yet. Nurse did say she would up my doses the oral meds wear off. Only on 4 units at the mo

Good start - fine needles for insulin are nowhere like as thick as those used for immunisations, which are usually the only needles people have experienced before.

Your nurse is right - it will take several days / weeks to make a significant difference to your blood glucose levels. Once you have an idea about total amount of insulin needed per day, it's easier to estimate doses / ratios needed for basal bolus regime, which you can adjust / adapt more easily to fit in with meal times, activities, life in general etc.

I'm struggling seeing the high reading. I hate it lol
