Just been checking through emails after returning from my holiday and I've had an email from gp about my recent blood tests. The way my surgery do things is blood tests taken, 3 gps sit down together who all specialise in diabetes who discuss the results and then patient is notified of what actions to be taken next.

It states in there that I have very good control, even though my hba1c is up from 6 months ago and if anything it is on the low side????? It's currently 49!
No further action required, apart from making an appointment with nurse for bp and foot check. No appointment needed to see the gp at all.
Next review isn't until January 2019.

Sounds great @Stitch147 - congrats on the A1c, keeping it there or thereabouts is excellent work.

@Stitch147
Good news and progress for you Stitch, well done.🙂

How do you feel about this though Stitch because it doesn’t address the morning highs that worry you.

Just because someone's HbA1c is X or Y - it doesn't tell anywhere near the whole story which we all know very well. It would actually have annoyed me if my meter readings didn't agree - and it did when mine showed that (different numbers, but same principle)

The morning highs do annoy me but am I worrying for nothing? Is it something that I should just get used to? I'm getting another libre sensor this week, so we'll see what's going on at night. I'm happy with where my levels are compared to when I was diagnosed.

It may well be that you have a stubborn dawn phenomenon going on Stitch. It has impacted a little on your Hba1c but not desperately. The important thing is it seems to steady during the day and your cholesterol certainly seems good.
My morning levels have been a bit higher lately (but I’ve got a lot going on with me) at the moment. However, my levels drop after breakfast.

I have reassed what I eat eat and slightly reduced my carbs and weigh portions of fruit, and this has helped reduce my fasting results slightly. Did this as my last HBA1C had slight rise into 50s.

How do you feel when your BG's are high? Does it make you feel tired or lethargic?

Well done with your A1C Stitch. Frustrating about your early morning levels but try not too much pressure on your self xxx

Well done Stitch.
Good news.
