The only reason we have been allowed to go into our GP surgery since last February has been for specific appointments either with a GP when they have specifically asked you to go at X o'clock, to see the nurse who does the phlebotomy or for our Covid jabs and even then we could not get into the place until they'd checked our temperature and we've had to sit 2m apart on one of the 6 chairs in to waiting room. After whatever has been done we have been ushered out of the back door into the carpark pdq. When having jabs (both Pfizer) you leave through a Fire Exit door and into a marquee on the carpark where there are X chairs 2m apart so you can only have conversations with your partner in loud voices (if one of you happens to be a tad mutt an jeff)

We had our jabs at home given by a masked up nurse both times. So I’m now (theoretically) fully immunised. That won’t stop me using a mask in any public places I visit (including, particularly, hospitals). I won’t be bothering washing my hands after unloading the shopping delivery, because that is such a tiny risk in any event with such a small viral load in the community. And I will maintain appropriate social distancing, indoors and out.

That’s all because I’m not a betting man.
