Hi just come back from the doctors and ive been told got a urine infection yet again. my third since january. Anyone else suffer? got any tips on how to prevent it or cope with it. Missing a lot of work because of it and i think my boss is getting a little annoyed.😡. I can never stabilise my sugar either. Its either really high or really low

I used to get this a lot but seem to have grown out of it as the years went by. Once the infection had been treated and was gone I would take, in the mornings, about half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in warm water (half a glass). That usually kept my urine reasonably alkaline and, even when I had an infection, it made the urine less stingy. Might be worth a try - but what is bringing on the infection with you I obviously can't say - blasted diabetes side effect again ?

I hope you feel better and get over the infection soon.

Advice given to me was drink plenty of water as it will help flush the system out and go some way to wards diluting the urine. I was also told to avoid things with a high salt and sugar content too.

Some people find lemon barley helps, so if you can find a low or no sugar variety, it might help

Cranberry juice, with no added sugar, or supplements can help. UTI's are miserable, I can sympathise. Hope you feel better soon x

thank you very much. I am trying to conceive so i will need to ask anout the supplements. thank you anyway xxx:D

I do get them from time to time, and it's miserable. Cranberry juice for me too, or lots of water with a drop of lemon juice in it.
