Low blood sugars can go away now!

I've been low pretty much all day, and nothing I seem to do makes the bloods go up. I've even just had dinner and I still feel awful. Tunnel vision, shakes, inability to concentrate on my work. Not good.

Any ideas?

silly to ask but have you tried to have some sugar???

also may be worth while reducing your doses a little.

yep, tried all sorts of sugary goodness but to no avail. Doses have also been on the low side as well, so I really dont understand

is it still warm near winchester??? do you have a slight cold??? anything out the ordinary???

Checked for ketones? Sometimes they can be present if your low as well as high. Bev

its been relatively warm today certainly. And then theres exam stress too. Urgh, I cannot believe I didn't put those two together. Sugars are usually 'relatively' ok in warm weather and usually fine at exam time too though

@katie - Just before dinner I was at 3.1, raised slightly from 2.5. I'm still at 3.7 :( and thats with dinner and not much insulin. Maybe I should just say sod it and have a bit of chocolate cake

yeh have some cake hehe, i wouldnt take any more insulin even if you eat - untill it's back up!

i would defo say it may be stress but i go high when really stressed out. id have the chocolate cake and keep an eye on them levels and check for ketones like bev said 🙂 also if no better tomorrow call your dsn for advice

If you have been low for most of the day then it might be a basal issue.

When you are low pre-meal are you treating the hypo before eating? Are you adjusting the timing of the insulin?

I certainly did try and treat before having dinner, its just...wierd...

and it looks like its happening again today, despite me lowering insulin doses and eating more! Woke up this morning (afternoon lol!) on 2.3 and my head is still spinning and still have orrible tingly feeling. I'm putting it down to exams - big one tomorrow and stressing big time lol. I think I should stock up on emergency noms cuz well, its certainly gunna get worse before it gets better today...

thanks all 🙂
