I’ve gone though the stage of loose bowels so thought my body was coping however this waking up with nausea isn’t rightI have just read on another thread you say you are also on Metformin too! How long have you been on them both.
If you are havi g gastric or bowel problems they are common side effects of Metformin.
Both are known side effects of Metformin. have you recently increased the dose?I’ve gone though the stage of loose bowels so thought my body was coping however this waking up with nausea isn’t right
Thank youHi @Gwenda, I have copied and pasted below your comment in another thread to bring things together. Hope you do not mind.

I’m on 1 gliclazide 80mgs in morning and 2 metformin slow release after tea at night and I can truthfully say I’m ill,I waken up at night feeling nauseated and sluggish throughout the day...any suggestions
Not recently myblood sugar levels are 10/11 in morning...doctor might increase my gliclazide but I’m coming off metforminBoth are known side effects of Metformin. have you recently increased the dose?
I did not mean the blood levels I meant the number of Metformin you are taking. Not recently myblood sugar levels are 10/11 in morning...doctor might increase my gliclazide but I’m coming off metformin
Thanks for your reply, I think the brand has changed, ill check with doctor if I can take in morningMaybe consider taking the Metformin in the morning with breakfast instead of in the evening. It may be that your digestion is slower at night and the tablets are still in your stomach when you go to bed and cause problems when you lie down.
Other options are that a different brand of Metformin might be better. I have read posts here on the forum where it was the coating on the tablets which was believed to be upsetting someone's digestive system as they had been fine on a different brand and then it was changed and their system was upset and they managed to get changed back and they were fine.
am taking 2 x 500 mgs of slow release.I did not mean the blood levels I meant the number of Metformin you are taking.
